Essential oils are powerful antiseptic agents we can use to clean the floor, surfaces and bathrooms.

I’ve been using aromatherapy for many years to clean my home in a completely natural way. I’m going to reveal some secrets for you to clean your home using aromatherapy. A completely healthy way to clean, and without chemicals!

Thinking about the current situation, I realized that staying at home could be a great opportunity to rethink things, change habits and routines and make the most of this time creatively. Even to clean my home, something extremely important at this time.

But… How can I clean the floor with aromatherapy? How can I clean the toilet with aromatherapy? How can I clean the surfaces? What can I do with my shoes when I get home? And with my clothes? How can I keep the atmosphere clean? What can I apply to my hands after washing them properly with soap and water?

Floor cleaning: add hot water into the bucket, 100 ml of vinegar and 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Soak the mop into it, pass the mop all over the floor and rinse the mop thoroughly. Mop the floor again but, this time, adding 6-10 drops of tea tree essential oil to the mop. You can also add some drops of lemon essence to provide a fresh and pleasant aroma for the whole family.

Carpet cleaning: prepare the following formula to spray onto the carpet after vacuuming it. In a spray bottle, add 50 ml of alcohol 96%, 50 ml of water, 20 drops of tea tree essential oil and 20 drops of niaouli essential oil. Shake this blend before each use and spray it after every time you vacuum the carpet, as an antiseptic and disinfectant.

Cleaning of toilets: in a 100 ml bottle with spray, add 90 ml of alcohol 96%, 10 drops of tea tree essential oil and 10 drops of lemon essence. Shake well this blend, after cleaning the toilet, spray it onto the inner and outer surface of the toilet and then wipe with a clean cloth.

Cleaning of surfaces (countertops, ceramic stove tops, tables, etc.): in a 100 ml bottle with spray, add 50 ml of alcohol 96%, 50 ml of water, 10 drops of tea tree essential oil and 10 drops of lemon essence. Shake well this blend before each use and, after perfectly cleaning the surface with soap and water, spray onto it and wipe with a clean cloth to spread the formula. Use, at least, 2-3 times a day.

This formula is also useful to clean your cell phone and glasses. Use it 2 or 3 times a day.

Cleaning the sole of shoes: once you get home, take off your shoes and put on your slippers. It is advisable you have slippers at the entrance to avoid stepping on the floor with your shoes. Then spray the following formula onto the sole of your shoes. In a 100 ml bottle with spray, add alcohol 96%, 20 drops of tea tree essential oil and 20 drops of lemon essence. Shake well before each use.

Cleaning of work clothes: once you get home, go straight to the washing machine and change your clothes. It is advisable you have clean clothes there to change them. Then, put your work clothes in the washing machine and start it.

How to maintain an aseptic atmosphere

Having an essential oil diffuser would be ideal. Add PHYTORESPIR into the diffuser, which is the perfect blend of essential oils, as it acts as a broad-spectrum antimicrobial. However, if you don’t have PHYTORESPIR, you can also use a blend of lemon essence and tea tree essential oil in equal parts. Diffuse this blend on alternate half-hour periods several times a day.

If you don’t have a diffuser, prepare the following formula in a bottle with spray:  alcohol 96%, 20 drops of tea tree essential oil and 20 drops of lemon essence. Shake this blend and spray it all over your home 2-5 times a day.
