What does it mean for an ingredient to be organic?

This is a component (it may be the entire cosmetic product or a variable percentage) that comes from organic farming. In other words, the plant is not genetically modified, it has been cultivated based on the optimal use of natural resources, without the use of pesticides, insecticides or herbicides, and in an eco-sustainable manner. The ingredient derived from the plant has been produced in the same way. To ensure that all organic controls and methodologies are complied with throughout the production and processing of the plants, certification bodies — external to the producing companies — periodically monitor each step, from the field to the final product, verifying that each and every one of their requirements is met.

ALL our products are cruelty-free, which means they are NOT tested on animals.

ECOCERT is a certification body for different types of products. It develops requirements in accordance with international standards to define, among other things, organic and natural cosmetic products. Companies wishing to produce cosmetics of this type must comply with the requirements established by the certification body. This means that ECOCERT auditors/inspectors (external to the companies) carry out regular visits to verify that each of the points related to their requirements are scrupulously complied with. Some of these points are: review of the packaging materials used, cleaning methodologies, waste management systems, verification of the origin of ingredients.

In order to manufacture a product certified under the ECOCERT or ECOCERT-COSMOS standard, the manufacturing company must be certified by the relevant body. Just as the company must comply with the requirements set out in the ECOCERT standard, so too must the product. In this way, the certifying body verifies that each of the ingredients and the packaging used meet its standards. It also verifies the percentages of natural, plant-based and organic products in each formulation and guarantees, through inspection, that they are correct. These percentages are indicated on the product packaging and labels, together with the certification body’s logo. ECOCERT also conducts an audit to verify that all production processes comply with regulations and that all ingredients are traceable from the moment they enter our facilities until the cosmetic product is manufactured.

We are deeply committed to quality, not only in terms of the products and raw materials we produce, but also in all the processes carried out at our facilities, from the arrival of the raw materials to the distribution of the finished product to its destination markets. For each of the ingredients and finished products, there is a precise and specific description of their organoleptic, physicochemical and microbiological characteristics. These quality specifications allow us to control each of the products. Each batch of raw material that enters our facilities is analysed to validate that it complies with all the points described in the specifications and, if the results are correct, to give it the corresponding entry into our production system. Once we have manufactured the corresponding product (your cream, oil, serum, gel, nutricosmetic), we carry out quality controls to verify that it meets the established requirements. These activities are carried out for each production batch.
