Use it always diluted. In a 30 ml-bottle prepare a blend of 30 ml of virgin olive oil and 8-10 drops of essential oil (a maximum of 10 drops). Take 0.5 ml of this blend 1-3 times a day for 10 days. Do not take it pure. Then take a rest period of 10 days. 1 ml of clove essential oil contains 20 drops.
PHENOLATED FOOD ESSENTIAL OILS
· Essential oils which are rich in phenols (thyme b. s.: thymol; thyme b. s.: carvacrol; clove b. s.: eugenol; pepper b. s.: eugenol; oregano b. s.: carvacrol) and in some aldehydes (cinnamaldehyde: cinnamon bark b. s. cinnamaldehyde) should be used with extreme caution. Never apply the oils directly to the skin and never allow the oils to be released in the air, as they can be irritating to mucous membranes if inhaled. Orally always use the essential oil diluted in a carrier oil.
· For essential oils containing phenols, prepare a mixture of 30 ml of extra virgin olive oil with 8-10 drops of the essential oil that contains phenols in a 30 ml amber glass dropper and shake vigorously. Take half a pipette (approx. 0.5 ml) 1-3 times a day. Follow the treatment for a maximum of 10 days alternating it with periods of rest of the same duration.
TOPICAL USE
· Toothache: apply 1 drop of clove oil to the tooth. CAUTION: for ages 12 and up.
· Gingivitis, periodontitis: apply 1 drop of clove oil and 2-3 drops of virgin sesame oil to the gums and massage gently. Oral thrush: add 30 drops of clove oil to 100 ml of virgin sesame oil, shake the mixture and gargle 1-2 times a day. CAUTION: do not swallow.
· Sciatica, low back pain: add 5 drops of clove oil to 5 ml of virgin macadamia oil and apply to the lower back and sciatic area, massaging until completely absorbed. Frequency: 2-3 times a day.
ORAL USE
Cystitis: add 7 drops of clove oil to 30 ml of virgin evening primrose oil, shake the mixture and take 3 times a day during the acute phase. Then, gradually reduce the frequency as the condition improves. Take breaks equivalent to the time taken to take the remedy.

PRECAUTIONS
· Dermocaustic due to its high phenol content: eugenol (70-80%)
· Eugenol is a platelet activity inhibitor, so it is not recommended for people undergoing anticoagulant therapy.
· For topical use, always dilute in a vegetable carrier to a weak dilution.
· Do not use undiluted in diffusion; combine with other oils. Only 2-5 drops may be added to a mixture of other essential oils suitable for atmospheric diffusion. Diffusion, even when diluted, should be kept away from babies and young children.
· Pregnancy: do not use.
· Breastfeeding: do not use.
· Do not use on children under 12 years of age.
