German chamomile, Chamomilla recutita, is an annual aromatic plant with yellow and white flowers. Its essential oil, ink-blue in colour, is obtained from the flowering plant by steam distillation and forms part of the E.O.B.B.D. selection from Esential’Arôms, in which the exact botanical species, producing organ and biochemical specificity are identified. In this case, its profile is defined by beta-farnesene, alpha-bisabolol, chamazulene and germacrene D, components responsible for its colour and its distinctive herbal aroma. Due to its natural concentration, it must be used with caution and always diluted before cosmetic application.
